Mr. Caplan began his career in the criminal justice system in 1989, with The Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC), where he developed an intricate understanding of law enforcement practices. During this time, he also developed his understanding of alcohol-related crimes, such as DUI, Public Intoxication, and Under 21 Possession.
Thereafter, he was employed by many prosecution agencies, including the Fresno County District Attorney, Madera County District, Los Angeles County District Attorney, as well as the Burbank City Attorney, for over 12 years.
Mr. Caplan attended classroom and field training with the Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement regarding Health and Safety Code section 11550, to obtain a better understanding of specifics of “Drug Influence” charges.
He has written and been published on the subjects of Controlled Substances, Weapons, and Airport Arrests.
Mr. Caplan’s background gives him insight into the process of the criminal justice system, where he analyzes client’s cases to determine the most effective strategies, possible alternatives to criminal convictions, and productive resolutions for his client’s cases.
