About George Kita

George Kita has practiced California criminal law for more than 20 years. He has represented clients in more than 2000 felony and misdemeanor criminal cases, and 1000+ juvenile cases, including: murder, attempted murder, carjacking, armed robbery, hate crimes, assault and battery, car theft, drug possession and sales, DUI, rape, sexual battery and molestation.

He has a degree in Criminal Justice from California State University, at Los Angeles, where he was recognized for academic excellence as recipient of the Rosalyn Jung & Mayor Jack Tyrell scholarships.

Mr. Kita attended law school at University of California, at Hastings. During law school, he worked at the California Attorney General's Office, Criminal Division, and as a judicial intern for the Honorable Presiding Justice Harry Low at the California Court of Appeal.

Mr. Kita was later employed as a deputy district attorney. Subsequently, he entered private law practice, focusing on youthful/first-time offenders, as well as criminal defense in felony & misdemeanor cases. Mr. Kita seeks out alternative outcomes for clients in Los Angeles & Orange County Courts, whenever possible.

Mr. Kita was recognized in “Top 100 Criminal Lawyers,” by the American Society of Legal Advocates, and is a recipient of the "Criminal Justice Leadership Award" from California Contract Cities Association.
